Pricing types

Each listing uses one of three pricing models:

Set the pricing type and base rate when creating or editing a listing.

Security deposit

An optional security deposit is pre-authorised on the customer's card at booking. The hold is released automatically when the booking is marked as Returned with no damage claim.

Custom fees

Beyond the listing price, you can add custom fees that are charged to every booking: Cleaning fee (flat) Fuel surcharge (flat) Insurance (per day)

Custom fees are created in Settings → Custom Fees and apply platform-wide. If the total custom fee exceeds $100 on a single booking, OutdoorShare adds a small 3% processing fee.

Add-ons

Add-ons are per-listing extras the customer can select at checkout: Optional extras (e.g. paddle, helmet, life jacket) Required extras (automatically added — e.g. mandatory safety kit)

Create add-ons from the Add-ons tab on any listing. Set a name, price, and whether it's per-day or a flat fee.

FAQ

Q: Can I charge different prices for weekends?

A: Not yet — all days use the same daily rate. Weekend pricing is on the roadmap.

Q: Are add-on prices included in the platform fee calculation?

A: Yes — the platform fee is calculated on the full booking total including add-ons.
